Adrian, on his feet 10,000–15,000 steps a day shares his Yoback experience.

Before

I had my knee fully replaced back in 2019 and I ended up buying one of those little pedal exercisers you sit in a chair with, just to keep the joint moving through the day. My job has me walking 10,000 to 15,000 steps most days, and my knee still aches after a long stretch on my feet. I'd tried foam rollers for general recovery, but they were really painful on my IT band, and you can't get the height right on one to properly stretch a hamstring, calf, or the back of the knee.

The Turning Point: Why Yoback?

If I'd had this back in 2019, I genuinely think my knee bend would be better than it is now.

"Had I had this back then, my knee probably... I'd probably have a good 100, 110 degree bend in [it]."

 

It gives you the height a foam roller just doesn't: you can roll it backwards and forwards with no pain, just proper stretching. That's what made it worth buying.

The Change: Life After Yoback

Now I use it twice a day without fail, first thing when I get up, and last thing before bed, and I've started taking it to the gym after training as well. I use the whole wheel, not just the calf piece: I stretch my back on it, my lats and arms in something like a child's pose, my hamstrings, and I do bodyweight squats on it.

It's also cut down what I used to spend on chiropractors.

"That's without a shadow saved me a lot of money on chiropractors when I used to go and see them, because I now can stretch myself out."

I sleep better since I started stretching properly at night, which surprised me. It travels with me too: I've used it in the US and in Majorca, and even on the plane, since my wife's feet dangle on long flights and it gives her something to rest them on.

A Few Questions We Asked

Q: So the trigger for you was your knee, was it?

"Yeah, that was the main thing... I couldn't get the stretch in my left knee like I could get in my right knee, and it was just a matter of getting that to the point where, after I've trained, I can give it a good stretch."

Q: If you explain it to somebody, how do you describe it?

"I took it to my PT. He was having a problem with his patella, so I said, I'll bring this up, use them in the wheel, I showed him how to do different things... I said, try it on your calves, it's an amazing thing on your calves... he said, 'I've never used nothing like it.'"

What Changed Since Starting to Use It Daily
